The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses.
For example:
By typing: picture book
Search finds documents containing: picture or book
Example: a
picture on the wall - the book on the shelf
By typing: picture OR book
Search finds documents containing: picture or book
Example: a
picture on the wall - the book on the shelf
By typing: picture AND book
Search finds documents containing: both picture and book
Example: I
have a picture book
By typing: picture NOT book
Search finds documents containing: picture but not book
Example: I
have a picture
By typing: (picture NOT book) AND birds
Search finds documents containing: birds, plus picture but not book
Example: I
have a picture of birds
By typing: fish*
Search finds documents containing: words starting with fish
